Proyeksi ini didasarkan pada ekspektasi bahwa pertumbuhan ekonomi dan suku bunga di AS akan menurun lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan Eropa, serta adanya kemungkinan peningkatan premi risiko atas aset dalam denominasi dolar. UBS menyoroti bahwa potensi pelemahan Dolar AS kali ini berbeda dari sebelumnya, yang biasanya dipicu oleh peningkatan signifikan dalam pertumbuhan ekonomi negara berkembang dan maju, serta menghasilkan imbal hasil yang kuat bagi pasar negara berkembang.
